Details: From the YHA you can actually see the top of Pen y Fan! This is one of the closest accommodation options near to the peak. However, this is less of a campsite and more of a bunkhouse. It still offers camping near Pen y Fan, but these are in cabins/pods. Good kitchen and lounge area. A convivial atmosphere that’s great for groups and meeting other hillwalkers.

Details: Pencelli Castle is one of the top campsites in Wales and has won numerous awards. It isn’t particularly close to Pen y Fan, but it is still located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. There are lots of facilities, picnic tables at each pitch, hard sites, and plenty of space available. No dogs are permitted. Nearby pub “Royal Oak” is highly recommended.
